Blaine R. Goldsberry Collection
Scope and Content
The collection primarily contains photos covering Goldsberry's life from his high school days through the 1960s. This includes photos from a 1953 banquet in his honor, along with RSVP correspondence for the dinner. The collection also contains several photos of other people, including Charles G. O'Bleness, and sheet music and the printing plates for a 1921 song, "Sakarah," written by the Ohio born composer and Ohio University alumnus Frank Crumit.

Biography of Blaine R. Goldsberry
Blaine R. Goldsberry was born in Athens, Ohio. He graduated from Athens High School in 1911 and from Ohio University in 1914. He was the captain of the basketball team during 1913-1914 season. Goldsberry received his medical degree from John Hopkins University in 1918 and served in the Navy during World War I. He began his medical practice in Athens in 1921 and was long associated with the Sheltering Arms Hospital. He also served as the team physician for the Ohio University football team for 28 years (1923-1951). In 1976, the year of his death, the all weather track in Peden Stadium was named for him.

The Ohio University Archives received the collection in July 1987 as a gift from Mary Frances Goldsberry Blair Lord.
