History of The Ohio University Foundation
Established in 1945 by President John C. Baker, The Ohio University Foundation (OUF) serves as the fund raising arm of Ohio University (OU). The OUF is an institutionally-related, nonprofit, tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, and is the repository for all private gifts to OU through annual giving programs, capital and special campaigns, and planned or deferred gifts such as bequests and trusts. Major capital campaigns at OU include the Bicentennial Campaign, The Third Century Campaign and The 1804 Campaign. Committees within the OUF include Women in Philanthropy, Intercollegiate Athletics, Technology, Emeriti Trustees, Membership, Development, Real Estate, Investment, Finance, and the Executive Committee. The OUF was previously known as Ohio University Fund, Inc.
