Biography of Clarence E. Scott
Clarence E. Scott (CES) was a Private, 1st Class, in Company C of the 2nd Regiment, United States Volunteer Engineers (USVE). The USVE was in Cuba from November 1898 to April 1899. While there, the USVE was involved in operations such as building waterworks, railway switches, roads, sewers, and store houses. It also cleaned and repaired forts, batteries, streets, surveyed temporary fortifications and prepared cemetery graves. Company C was formed in Cincinnati, Ohio. CES was from Nelsonville, Ohio.
