Scope and Content
The collection of Appalachian Movement Press (APM) publications spans from 1971 to 1973 and contains items produced by this independent publisher. The publications are organized into two series: 1. Appalachian Press Movement; and 2. Independent Publications. Series 1. Appalachian Press Movement includes pamphlets, bibliographies of publications offered, a calendar, and posters. Some of the pamphlets have a zine quality. Titles include: "The Hillbillys: a book for children," "The Socialist and Labor Star," "Songs for Southern Workers," and "Conspiracy in Coal." Series 2. Independent Publications contains publications that may have been related to the APM. These include The Buffalo Spokesman and The Council of the Southern Mountains .
