Grosvenor family papers
Scope and Content
The Grosvenor family papers span from 1819 to 1944 and contain papers from Charles Henry Grosvenor (CHG) and Constance Leete (CL). The papers include CHG's license to practice in front of the Supreme Court of the United States; event invitations; photographs, lithographs, and other portraits of CHG; other illustrations and photographs; architectural drawings for the Grosvenor home; and correspondence and blueprints concerning property conveyed by CL to Ohio University.

Biography of Charles Grosvenor
Charles Henry Grosvenor (CHG) was an attorney, a general in the Union Army during the Civil War, and a United States Congress representative for 20 years. CHG grew up in Athens, Ohio. He was responsible for persuading Andrew Carnegie to provide funds for a library at Ohio University.
Constance Leete (CL) is his granddaughter through his second wife Louise Currier. CL lived in the Grosvenor house until the house was sold to the Episcopal Church in 1948. Today the house is part of Ohio University as the Konneker Advancement and Alumni Center.
