William U. Snyder papers
Scope and Content
The William U. Snyder (WUS) records span from the 1940s to the 1980s and document WUS's professional career as an author, researcher and professor of psychology. The collection includes correspondence, written speeches, professional organization brochures and booklets, manuscripts and reprints of articles by WUS, a copy of his dissertation, research notes, copies of WUS's curriculum vitae, awards and a scrapbook presented by Ohio University documenting his receipt of the Distinguished Professor award.

Biography of William U. Snyder
Before coming to Ohio University (OU) in 1962, William U. Snyder (WUS) held positions with the United States Employment Service, the Des Moines Child Guidance Clinic, Ohio State University (OSU), and Pennsylvania State University. WUS received his doctorate from OSU in 1942. As the chair of the psychology department and director of clinical training at OU, WUS secured a federal training grant in clinical psychology as well as numerous research grants to support his work. OU named him a Distinguished Professor in 1970.
