History of the Ohio Osteopathic Association
In 1972, the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA) House of Delegates passed a resolution calling for the formation of a committee to study the need and realistic possibilities of starting an Ohio osteopathic college. By 1975, the OOA had completed a successful lobbying campaign that resulted in passage in the Ohio General Assembly of Amended House Bill 229 that created Ohio's only osteopathic medical school as a "constituent part" of Ohio University (OU). Grosvenor Hall became the first medical school building for the OU College of Medicine in 1975.
