Scope and Content
The Dru Riley Evarts (DRE) collection of line cuts dates from 1952 and contains letterpress printing plates of cartoons by Jerry Goldman. These cartoons were used along with articles written by DRE for publications in Southeast Ohio including the Athens Messenger.

Biography of Dru Riley Evarts
Dru Riley Evarts (DRE) is an Ohio University journalism graduate. After graduating in 1951, President John C. Baker asked her to stay on to help feature the regional campuses through news stories, features, radio broadcasts, art and other methods in order to raise public support for them through Southeast Ohio. DRE became a writer in the News Bureau for this project.
