Scope and Content
The Office of Public Information collection on the 1967 Strike contains public statements released by Ohio University and newspaper clippings.
Newspaper clippings are grouped by date starting with stories from the Athens Messenger. Other clippings that follow include Associated Press and United Press International releases and stories from other newspapers throughout the state.
All duplicate clips have been eliminated from this collection; therefore, each clip differs in some respect. There are several versions of wire stories indicating that updated wire copy was transmitted throughout the day.

On March 4, 1967, a group of non-academic employees at Ohio University voted to strike due to a denial of payroll deductions of union dues. The strike ended March 15, 1967.
