Biography of Wai-Kai Chen
Wai-Kai Chen (WKC) received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ohio University and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. WKC joined the Ohio University faculty in 1964. In 1978, WKC was the recipient of the Distinguished Professor Award. In 1981, WKC became Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Illinois in Chicago. WKC published prolifically on network theory. He had three books and several book chapters to his credit by the time he was named Distinguished Professor. He had also by that time authored approximately 80 journal articles and 15 book reviews, and had delivered many papers and lectures at conferences and professional meetings around the world.
