Scope and Content
This collection provides an accumulation of records regarding Luverne Lausche during his time as Ohio University's Business Manager. Included in this collection are aperture cards for the blueprints and projects that took place at Ohio University from 1906-1986. Also included are the building speculations for a number of dormitories, public buildings, and classroom buildings on campus. This collection is organized by topic and then alphabetically in that topic.
Luverne Lausche, born in 1910 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, joined the Ohio University Staff in 1937. Previous to his time at Ohio University he attended the University of Wisconsin, receiving his B.S. degree in 1934. He joined the Ohio University Faculty three years later as an instructor in steam engineering, becoming supervising engineer and then chief engineer. However, he still remained a part-time instructor throughout all of this. In 1951 he was then named Business Manager of Ohio University. Beyond this, Lausche was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Association of Power Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education, Pi Tau Sigma, mechanical engineering honorary, and Tau Beta Pi, all- engineering honorary.
This collection provides information as to the different building schematics and project blueprints throughout the twentieth century at Ohio University. Most of the building speculations are in their original form and the aperture cards contain the copy of blueprints for projects that the originals could not be kept.
