South Central Ohio Preservation Society records
Scope and Content
The South Central Ohio Preservation Society (SCOPS) records span from the 1960s to the 1970s and document the activities of this service organization. The collection is organized into two series: Series 1. Landmarks; and Series 2. Administration. Series 1. Landmarks contains brochures, newspaper clippings, and city planning reports on Ohio cities, parks, events and monuments collected by the SCOPS. The series is organized by county. Series 2. Administration contains the administrative records of the SCOPS including correspondence, board meeting minutes, constitution (called policies and goals), applications for centennial farms or property certificates, press releases, membership lists, newsletters and publications, and newspaper clippings.

History of South Central Ohio Preservation Society
The South Central Ohio Preservation Society is based in Chillicothe, Ohio. It was created in order to lobby for the recognition, declaration and preservation of historic landmarks and to publicize historical attractions in south central Ohio.
