The Jean R. Mahn (JRM) Collection spans from 1904 to the 1980s and documents JRM's life. The collection includes photograph albums and loose photographs; newspaper clippings; genealogy research; estate papers; JRM's thesis; and Isabel MacDonald Whittaker's diaries.

Biography of Jean Rohde Mahn
Jean Rohde Mahn (JRM) is the daughter of Edward Whittaker and Isabel MacDonald Whittaker. She was born in 1917 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, and spent her early life nearby in Briercrest Village. JRM was married to first husband Tom Rohde, and second husband Robert Mahn (RM). JRM attended Wheaton College, the Toronto Conservatory of Music, Briercrest College, the University of Delaware, and Central Collegiate in Moosejaw. JRM became a faculty member on the staffs of Salem College and Academy, King's College in Delaware, and Eastern Baptist College, now Eastern College, before coming to Athens, Ohio, in 1989. JRM and RM made a significant donation to Ohio University Libraries, and the archives department was renamed the Robert E. and Jean R. Mahn Center for Archives and Special Collections. JRM died in 2009.
