The Athen's Past: A Photographic Journey exhibition collection consists of reproductions of original print photographs documenting Athens County from 1870 to 1941. There were 200 photographs in the exhibition from archives and private collections and it was exhibited June 1-15, 1997.

Processing Information
Previously titled "Collection on the Dairy Barn Arts Center" this collection was given the new title, "Athen's Past: A Photographic Journey exhibition collection" in August 2024. Parts of the collection relating the Dairy Barn consisting primarily of promotional materials such as pamphlets, posters, and mailings were transferred to the Southeast Ohio History Center and merged with a larger Dairy Barn Arts Center collection. What remains at the Mahn Center is material relating to the "Athen's Past" exhibition that was displayed at the Dairy Barn Arts Center.
