I have interviewed more than 100 members of the Republican Brotherhoo d\, a progressive social movement in Sudan whose leader was executed in the 1980s\, about their interest in sustaining the movement in their leader’s absence. Many members are now living in the US and trying to raise their Mu slim families here and keep the spirit of their community alive.
