Biological & Biomedical Seminar | Corinne Nielsen, Nov. 7
The Biological Sciences & Biomedical Sciences Research Seminar Series features Dr. Corinne Nielsen discussing "Intercellular influences during neurovascular disease" on Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. in Irvine 159.
Nielsen is assistant professor of Biological Sciences at Ohio University.
Abstract : Our research focuses on understanding how the vascular and nervous systems develop/function coordinately and thereby influence one another – i.e., what molecular and cellular mechanisms regulate neurovascular development and what mechanisms trigger neurovascular diseases. To answer these questions, our lab combines genetic, molecular, cell biological, and imaging approaches to study genes involved in vascular morphogenesis and physiological function and to understand how genetic dysregulation leads to vascular related disease.
