The Biological Sciences & Biomedical Sciences Research Seminar Series features Dr. Bryan Carstens discussing "Predictive Biodiversity Science" on Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. in Irvine 159.

Carstens is professor and chair of the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology at Ohio State University. Carstens' lab aims to understand how biological diversity is generated using computational approaches. The lab’s research aims to investigate empirical systems by identifying the limits of evolutionary lineages in order to evaluate the relative contributions of evolutionary processes and infer the ecological and environmental forces that have contributed to the formation of population genetic structure.
