Abstract:  Research in the Carroll lab is focused on molecular mechanisms used the bacterial pathogen S. aureus to cause disease. We are particularly interested in noncoding RNAs, RNA based mechanisms of gene regulation, and ways in which RNA‐centric processes can be targeted to develop new therapeutic intervention strategies to treat S. aureus and MRSA infections. In this seminar I will give an overview of our research and discuss a number of specific research projects that are ongoing in the lab.
