& Black Diaspora Studies.\n\nIn the wake of her sister Sandra Bland’s untim
ely death and\n\nthe suspicious circumstances surrounding it\, Sharon has\n
\nbecome a social justice advocate on behalf of her sister\n\nand other Bla
ck men\, women\, boys and girls who have died\n\nin police custody and at t
he hands of police due to brutal\n\nencounters. Recognized by Hello Beautif
ul as a 2016\n\nWoman to Know\, Sharon travels the country speaking\n\nabou
t policies that serve as barriers to the progression of\n\ncommunities of c
olor and has appeared on CNN\, Nightline\,\n\nMSNBC & The View.
