Toast and take a sip with your fellow Bobcats as you hop to your favorite spots on Court and Union Streets. Coming to you live from The Union, Veteran Athens bartender Erin “Stonewall” Christian, formerly of Jackie O’s and The Union, will mix up both adult and kid-friendly versions of some classic Athens cocktails. You’ll learn how to make them yourself and also receive the recipes, so you can enjoy a taste of Athens any time you like. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind chance to celebrate Ohio University’s first-ever virtual Homecoming!

Featured drinks and ingredients:

Pickle Shot
Glassware: Shot glass
1 oz. Absolut Peppar
0.5 oz. Pickle juice
Dash of hot sauce
Garnish with ⅓ pickle spear or 1 pickle chip

Junction Punch
Glassware: Pint glass
1 oz. light run
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. gin
1 oz. Wildberry Schnapps (DeKuyper Mixed Berry Medley, or any berry flavor you like)
Splash of sour mix
Splash of grenadine syrup
Splash of Sprite
Garnish with cherry

Non-Alcoholic Junction Punch
Glassware: Pint glass
4 oz. Sprite
1 oz. sour mix
1 oz. cranberry juice
Splash of grenadine syrup

Hot Nut
Glassware: Shot glass1 oz. hot coffee
1 oz. DeKuyper’s Hazelnut Bliss

Non-Alcoholic Hot Nut
Glassware: Your favorite mug6-8 oz. hot coffee
1 tsp. hazelnut syrup

Bloody Mary
Glassware: Pint glass
2 oz. Vodka
1 dash of celery seed
2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce (or to preference)
2 dashes of hot sauce (or to preference)
1 tsp. horseradish
4 oz. tomato juice
Salt and pepper (to preference)
Garnish with lemon and lime

Mimosa
Glassware: Champagne flute or wine glass
2.5 oz. Champagne
2.5 oz. Orange juice
Garnish with orange slice

Non-Alcoholic Mimosa
Glassware: Champagne flute or wine glass
2.5 oz. Sparkling cider
2.5 oz. Orange Juice
Garnish with orange slice

Root Beer Float
Glassware: Rocks glass
1 oz. Jameson’s Irish Whiskey
0.5 oz. Rumchata
3 oz. Root Beer (also great with Coca-Cola or Cream Soda)

Non-Alcoholic Root Beer Float
Glassware: Pint glass6 oz Root Beer
1 scoop vanilla ice cream

Walnut-infused Old Fashioned
Glassware: Rocks glass
2 oz. Walnut-raisin infused bourbon (or any bourbon you like)
1 tsp. sugar
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
1 cherry
2 orange slices (1 to muddle and 1 to garnish)

Other items:
  • Ice
  • Glassware of your choice
  • Cocktail shaker (or jar with lid, and a strainer)
  • Jigger, shot glasses, or other measuring tool
  • Muddler (or wooden spoon)
  • Mixing spoons

Hailing from the tiny village of Covington, Ohio, Erin studied civil engineering at Ohio University before tending bar at Jackie O’s, where she worked for six years. She moved to The Union for two years and is now a sales representative for a craft beer distributor, representing great Ohio brands such as Jackie O’s, Mad Tree, Urban Artifact, and Fat Head’s. Her hobbies include hiking, taking care of her many plants, and cooking. Up next is her own cookbook.
