Join your Ohio University Alumni Association on Friday, May 3, for  a fun evening at the beautiful  Desert Botanical Garden .

Don’t miss the chance to reconnect with local Bobcats, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to engage in fascinating conversations with esteemed faculty expert Dr. John J. Schenk as we tour the garden.

Dr. Schenk is an Assistant Professor of Botany at Ohio University in the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology. His primary research interests include studying the ways in which plant species and flowers evolve. He has been particularly interested in understanding the origins of southwestern plants, which form a remarkable and diverse community throughout the region. His research has taken him to Arizona numerous times, where he has collaborated with faculty from the Desert Botanical Garden to discover and name two new species that grow high along the cliffs of the Grand Canyon.

Your registration includes delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres and two drink tickets.

RSVP: To ensure we can accommodate everyone comfortably, please RSVP by April 24, 2024. For any inquiries, please reach out to Rebecca Prater at  praterr@ohio.edu .

We look forward to sharing this time with you and can’t wait to see you there!
