He also earned a Certificate in Contemporary History from the Contem porary History Institute during his time at OU\, and in 2017 was awarded CH I’s Baker Peace Fellowship. His completed dissertation - "Green Cheese" and "the Moon": Jimmy Carter\, Ronald Reagan\, and the Euromissiles – served a s the basis for Unraveling the Gray Area Problem (Cornell University Press\ , 2023)\, in which he examines the US role in why the Intermediate-Range Nu clear Forces (INF) Treaty took almost a decade to negotiate and then failed in just thirty years.\n\n \n\nGriffith currently serves Professor of Gover nment and History at New Mexico Junior College\, where he specializes in U. S. history\, Western Civilization\, and the American government. Alongside his work as a professor\, he is a faculty leader and adviser for the Colleg e's Film Club. Prior to joining New Mexico Junior College\, Dr. Griffith wo rked for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation and Institute as a visiting postdoctoral fellow and with RAND Corporation as a Stanton Nucl ear Security Post-Doctoral Fellow. He has also taught at Washington State C ommunity College\, the University of Rio Grande\, and Rio Grande Community College.\n\n \n\nThis event is free and open to the public.
