DESCRIPTION:The Center for Teaching\, Learning\, and Assessment recently re
leased a position statement on use of generative artificial intelligence (G
enAI) in teaching and learning. In this workshop\, Associate Director for F
aculty Programming Jeremy Henkel Ohio University will reintroduce this stat
ement and provide specific scenarios for instructors seeking to ethically u
se GenAI in their own courses to support student ethical use of GenAI.\n\n
\n\nThe session is designed for and open to all instructors\, teaching and
teaching support staff\, and graduate student instructors.\n\n \n\nDuring a
nd following this session\, participants will:\n\nReview a framework for AI
literacy.Prepare themselves for assisting students with AI literacy.Identi
fy their own positions on ethical use of GenAI in the classroom.Determine t
heir responses to several scenarios involving student use of GenAI. \n\nTh
e session will be delivered synchronously via Teams from 10 to 11 a.m.\, Tu
esday\, June 25. It is part of a CTLA GenAI and Teaching and Learning summe
r panel and workshop series that is integrated into the Summer 2024 AI-enha
