ut GOSPEL:\n\nGOSPEL is a new four-hour docuseries that explores the rich h
istory of Black spirituality through sermon and song from executive produce
r\, host\, and writer Professor Henry Louis Gates\, Jr. \n\n \n\nAbout Gues
t Speaker\, Philip C. Tabler:\n\nMr. Philip C. Tabler is a Professor of Mus
ic at Valor Christian College pursuing a Doctorate of Higher Education from
OHIO. He studied music and developed an ear for Gospel Music at an early a
ge. Growing up in a black church and playing piano and organ enabled his gi
fts and appreciation to emerge and develop. A constant student\, Professor
Tabler continues to explore the power of music\, and being a Board-Certifie
d Music Therapist enables him to share from academic\, intellectual\, and e
motional points of view.\n\n \n\nAbout Guest Speaker\, Michael Johnson:\n\n
Michael Johnson is a lifelong resident of Lancaster\, Ohio. He is a graduat
e of Lancaster High School and earned a degree in history from Ohio Univers
ity. He is the Marketing Director for the Fairfield County Heritage Associa
tion and the Museum Director for the Sherman House Museum. \n\n \n\nMichael
serves on the Visit Fairfield County Board of Directors\, is a member of t
he Untold Stories Committee for the America 250 Commission\, is a member of
the Sherman Rotary and the Diversity\, Equity\, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI
B) Committee at the Lancaster-Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. He is a
lso a certified cemetery conservator and enjoys cleaning headstones and res
toring cemeteries.\n\n \n\nAbout Michael’s Presentation "Uncovering Lancast
er's Black History”:\n\nLancaster\, Ohio has an interesting black history t
hat has been under-told\, under-appreciated and often segregated to a speci
fic section of the city. Join Michael Johnson as he uncovers some of the ar
ea's black historical figures\, along with the unique challenges that they
faced\, from the founding of Lancaster to the Civil War.
