But Gustav Mahler knew hunger and racism, and wrote Lieder spanning the widest range of human feeling — and offering consolation in the face of pain. Sopranos Katherine Rohrer and Kimberly Monzón, collaborating with pianist Jiung Yoon and musicologist/presenter Arved Ashby, invite you to join them as they perform two of Mahler's most penetrating song sets and discuss this music's most intricate poetic nuances and musical secrets.
