In the wake of hip hop's 50th anniversary\ , the exhibition explores the genre's extraordinary influence on contempora ry society over the past two decades through more than 90 works of art and fashion. As a bonus treat\, alumni and friends are invited to hear Dr. Jaso n Rawls\, the project's curator and an Ohio University alumnus\, discuss th e exhibit via Zoom. Dr. Rawls is known for his music production work with a rtists like Mos Def\, Talib Kweli\, and Aloe Blacc\, and for having helped develop at Ohio University the first hip-hop based education program in a c ollege of education.\n\nGuests should meet at the second-floor exhibit entr ance in areas 222 and 223 to sign in by 5:30 p.m. View the museum map. Part icipants should be prepared to have earbuds and Zoom capability on their de vices in order to hear Dr. Rawls\, now an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University in the Department of African American and African Studies and t he School of Music. Following the brief presentation\, attendees may tour a ny of the exhibits and enjoy the entertainment.
