ollows the life of an orphan chess prodigy\, Elizabeth Harmon\, in the 1960
s during her quest to become the world's greatest chess player.\n\nThe show
is based on the book written by former Ohio University English Professor W
alter Tevis.\n\nPanelists\n\n\n\nDr. Miriam Shadis\n\nDr. Miriam Shadis\, A
ssociate Professor of History\, will talk about the History of Chess.\n\n\n
\nDr. Kim Little\n\nDr. Kimberly Little\, Professor of Instruction and Asso
ciate Director of Women's\, Gender & Sexuality Studies\, will talk about wo
men and gender roles in the 1960s.\n\n\n\nDr. Steven Miner\n\nDr. Steven Mi
ner\, Professor of History\, will talk about the history of the Cold War as
a backdrop for the show.
