About this Event
20 East Union Street, Athens, Ohio 45701
Presented by Zaman Ashraf, CIS Visiting International Scholar
Bangladesh's human rights situation consistently worsened under a dictatorial rule for over 15 years since 2009. International human rights groups and multilateral bodies, including United Nations Human Rights Council and the Government of United States, kept focusing on accountability for the gross violations of rights. Heavy-handed crackdowns on students-let protests triggered over 1500 killings of peaceful protesters and ouster of dictator Sheikh Hasina paving the opportunities of rebuilding the institutions of the country.
The CIS Thursday Forum is a weekly series focusing on international research, scholarship and creative activity for the OHIO community.
