For remote seminars\, connection info for the video conference (TEAMS or ZOOM) and abstract of the talk will be communic ated by email before the seminar. The emails are sent to the inpp-seminar m ailing list. To be added to this mailing list\, contact Prakash.\n\n \n\nTh e host is Julie Roche.\n\n \n\nAbstract: Nucleons being close together caus es hard interactions due to the short (repulsive) and medium (tensor) range forces\, creating energetic nucleon pairs. Understanding these high moment um nucleon pairs is important for both the realistic description of nuclear structures and for studying the transition between partonic to nucleonic d egrees of freedom. In electron scattering experiments\, the nucleon-nucleon short-range correlation (SRC) pairs are identified by their large initial momentums. Previous measurements at Jefferson Lab had observed a strong iso spin-dependence of those pair configurations in light and heavy nuclei and found strong np dominance\, i.e. almost entirely neutron-proton SRCs. I wil l present the results from a recent Jefferson Lab measurement on the mirror nuclei tritium and helium-3 which finds a much smaller np enhancement with high precision. This indicates the strong nucleon-nucleon interaction is s ensitive to the nuclear environment. In this talk I will go through the tri tium SRC experiment\, present it’s unexpected results\, and discuss their i mplications and some future experiments to study nucleon-nucleon interactio ns and in-medium modifications DTEND:20221011T210000Z DTSTAMP:20241005T042305Z DTSTART:20221011T200000Z GEO:39.326188;-82.101779 LOCATION:Lindley Hall\, 321 SEQUENCE:0 SUMMARY:INPP Seminar | Revealing the short range structure of the mirror nu clei 3H and 3He\, Oct. 11 UID:tag:localist.com\,2008:EventInstance_40926889328621 URL:https://calendar.ohio.edu/event/inpp_seminar_oct_11 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
