Open Studio programs are from 2 - 3:30 pm on select S undays. Space is limited and we are currently requiring pre-registration to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nFAMILY OPEN STUDIO OC TOBER 22\, 2023 \n2 PM - 3:30 PM\nREGISTER HERE:https://ohio.qualtrics.com/ jfe/form/SV_021gkmH1kD5WTyu\n\nOur October Family Open Studio features Nico le Seisler’s public art project which invites participants to join together on a local walk around the Ridges campus with blocks of wet clay in hand. This clay will be used to make impressions of built or natural details that visually “define” this place. The raw clay acts as a material to enhance o ur sense of touch and our physical connection to our surroundings. One side of each ceramic object captures the textures lifted from the surface that the participant presses their clay into\, while the other side is marked by the hand that once held it. The resulting “souvenirs” will become records of particular moments in time and place. They will be kept and put on displ ay in the current exhibition\, In Hand: Contemporary Material Engagements w ith the Built World. \n\nParticipants are welcomed and encouraged to come b ack to the Kennedy Museum of Art at a later date to see how the gallery tra nsforms!
