DESCRIPTION:In August of 2021\, Liz Pahl and filmmaking partner Andie Walla
finished their documentary film series\, Legacy: Women of Southeast Ohio.
The films highlight the incredible accomplishments of four Southeastern Ohi
o women who have dedicated their lives to community action\, activism\, tea
ching and social justice. The films aim to empower women and girls to use t
heir strengths and talents to make a difference in this world.\n\nThe docum
entary showcases the lives of four incredible women: Ada Woodson Adams\, Fo
rmer President of the Multicultural Genealogical Center in Chesterhill\, Oh
io\, an organization that documents\, preserves and shares the stories of B
lack\, Native American and other underrepresented Americans in our region\;
Dr. Francine Childs\, Professor Emerita\, first Black Full Professor and t
he first and only woman to chair the Department of African Studies at Ohio
University\; Dr. Dru Riley Evarts\, Professor Emerita and first woman tenur
ed in the Ohio University Journalism School\, and Carol Kuhre\, Fiber Artis
t and founder/former Executive Director of the grassroots community organiz
ation advocating for issues around social\, environmental and economic just
ice: Rural Action.
