Bockoven is a Content Localization Specialist who has managed translation workflows for major news, documentary, and media teams including the New York Times, HBO, VICE, Meta, and National Geographic. He is an alumnus of the MA Linguistics program.

Abstract : This talk will give an overview of the role of Localization Producers and Localization Specialists within news and media groups. Topics covered will include establishing best localization practices for media companies, creating language solutions for daily news and conflict reporting, and expanding programs to serve and represent speakers of endangered and minority languages
