DESCRIPTION:Listen as six Voinovich School Masters of Public Administration
students discuss their internship experiences. They will share how their i
nternships helped them develop skills in leading in public governance\, par
ticipate in and contribute to the policy process\, solve problems and make
decisions\, articulate a public service perspective\, and communicate and i
nteract with a diverse and changing workforce and citizenry.\n\n \n\nRegist

containing the Zoom link prior to the event.\n\n \n\nAbout the interns:\n\n
\n\nEwurabena Edufua Krampah will share about her internship with the Soci
al Enterprise Ecosystem Appalachia. Ewurabena’s internship involved working
in teams conducting online and field research on several projects\, using
specific programs and software to collect data to enable organizations to m
ake a social impact.\n\n \n\nLyda Ngin will detail her experience interning
at Sinh LLC\, where her primary tasks included managing an e-commerce proj
ect\, promoting company branding\, improving internal communication\, maint
aining social media channels\, consulting on business marketing strategy\,
and employing corporate social responsibility.\n\n \n\nKofi Baah-Gyimah int
erned with Dr. Jacob White\, Voinovich School senior executive-in-residence
\, and his research was focused on assessing the lack of household internet
and its correlation with lower student participation in virtual science fa
irs in Ohio. The project is helping to better understand STEM education and
its relevance for education in the US and the world.\n\n \n\nKatlyn Perani
will discuss her internship with the Village of Somerset where she managed
the Perry County Farmers Market. In her time with the village\, she develo
ped professional relationships with regional organizations\, created a budg
eting system\, and assisted with the grant implementation process. Her inte
rnship also included social media marketing and working with the public to
provide fresh local produce to a town that does not otherwise have sufficie
nt access.\n\n \n\nHabiba Abdelaal interned with the Athens Humane Society\
, where she was involved in day-to-day operations working with volunteers\,
foster families\, and animal adopters. Habiba learned to develop and manag
e a database for donors\, volunteers\, and adopters and helped improve the
organization’s website and marketing plan.\n\n \n\nJames Burt will discuss
his virtual internship experience with both Jackson County Economic Develop
ment and Meigs County Economic Development. James completed marketing resea
rch for a proposed industrial site in Meigs County\, administrative assista
nce for economic development sites in Jackson County\, and aided Jackson Co
unty in successfully completing a mock-site visit.
