Join Ohio University’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion, International Student Union, University Interfaith Association, and the general public in celebrating the International Day of Peace as part of Ohio University’s inaugural Make Respect Visible Week 2024. This event will feature in-person speakers and a panel exploring diverse perspectives on peace, highlighting the important ways individuals and communities contribute to fostering understanding and connection across differences. Through facilitated small group discussions, attendees will engage in deeper dialogue, reflecting on how peace can be nurtured both in personal interactions and within communities. The facilitated dialogues will offer participants the opportunity to explore personal experiences, values, and hopes related to peace. Discussions will focus on observations about the challenges to achieving peace in today’s world, the core values necessary for fostering peace within communities, and the steps required to build lasting peace for the future.
