National award-winner and member of the prestigious System of Art Creators of Mexico (Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte), Mexican-born American Poet Manuel Iris will be holding conversation and performing a poetry reading on March 2. His visit to Ohio University will continue on March 3, including a class visit and a lunch to meet with students, faculty and community members. Manuel Iris holds a BA in Latin American Literature from the Autonomous University of the
Yucatan (Mexico), an MA in Spanish from the New Mexico State University, and a PhD in
Romance Languages from the University of Cincinnati, the city in which he lives and
where he served as poet laureate from 2018 to 2020.
