onsiders the case of South African middle-distance runner\, Caster Semenya\

hletics (WA) ruled must undergo medical intervention in order to compete in
women's events.\n\n \n\nHe argues that World Athletics' ruling was ethical
ly and legally problematic.\n\n \n\nAmeermia is a legal consultant and the
current commissioner for social cohesion and nation building in the Republi
c of South Africa and also a former commissioner on the South African Human
Rights Commission. He brings with him a lifetime of expertise and experien
ce to share with Ohio University students as a Robert and Rene Glidden Visi
ting Professor.\n\nAmeermia is a legal consultant and the current commissio
ner for social cohesion and nation building in the Republic of South Africa
\, a position that allows him to build on his decades of work in defense of
human welfare\, rights\, and dignity. He is also a former commissioner on
the South African Human Rights Commission.\n\n This lecture is hosted by th
e Institute for Applied and Professional Ethics.
