The  OHIO Digital Accessibility Network (OHIO-DAN)  is a University-wide, interdisciplinary group of volunteers who are committed to helping Ohio University improve digital accessibility for everyone. The OHIO-DAN meets the last Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. for short educational presentations and conversation to advance digital accessibility on campus.

The April meeting will feature OHIO digital accessibility experts leading a discussion around color contrast in our digital work. According to the World Health Organization , at least 2.2 billion people in the world have some sort of vision impairment. To ensure that our websites, electronic documents, and other digital content can be fully accessed by everyone, understanding color contrast and implementing accessible practices is extremely important.

The April OHIO-DAN meeting agenda will cover the following topics:

  • Facts, causes of color blindness, and color-blind types
  • An introduction to colors and color contrast
  • How does this affect our work and real-world examples
  • Q&A with accessibility experts and the OHIO-DAN community
