nAbstract: Seeds are the time machines made by plants for their offspring t
o travel through space and time\, and germinate in a favored environment. S
eeds development involves embryogenesis\, storage reserve accumulation\, de
siccation tolerance\, and induction of dormancy. These processes are coordi
nated by many transcription factors under complex spatial and temporal regu
lation. Using genetic and genomic approaches\, we showed how transcription
factor networks shape the transition from seeds to seedlings.
