Power of the Pen empowers young people to find and develop th eir own unique creative voice as they prepare for district\, regional\, and state interscholastic writing tournaments. \n\n \n\nRegional tournaments f eature a similar schedule as district competitions. Students compete in thr ee extemporaneous rounds of writing\, and their accomplishments are celebra ted in an awards ceremony early in the afternoon. Only qualifying writers\, usually the top 50% from district\, compete in the regional events. At th e conclusion of the day’s events\, every student has received one-on-one fe edback on their writing. Students feel supported\, encouraged\, and energiz ed to continue developing their creative writing skills.
