One particular topic that fascinates him is how some i nfectious bacteria manage to persist in our bodies without causing symptoms .\n\nWeyand’s research focuses on Neisseria gonorrhoeae\, a Gram-negative b acterium that causes the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea.
