Athens Cinema's "The Met: Live in HD" event has been canceled  to accommodate unexpected building repairs within 20 South Court St.

Due to the use of specialized satellite equipment setup for these transmissions, the Athena staff cannot relocate in time for Saturday’s transmission. They hope to be able to offer an encore of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in the near future.

Athena Cinema staff will be reaching out directly to those who previously purchased tickets to an upcoming event and/or made a rental reservation to provide ticket refunds and/or explore event rescheduling options.

The Athena Cinema staff appreciates your patience during this period. We also encourage you to visit other theaters in the region who present the The Met:  https://www.metopera.org/Season/In-Cinemas/Theater-Finder/

Nathalie Stutzmann conducts her second Mozart work this season with a new production of Die Zauberflöte. In his Met-debut staging, Simon McBurney incorporates projections, sound effects, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart’s fable. The brilliant cast includes soprano Erin Morley as Pamina, tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Tamino, baritone Thomas Oliemans in his Met debut as Papageno, soprano Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, and bass Stephen Milling as Sarastro

Admission $20 (senior $18, children $8)
