Dr. Randy Leite will discuss relevant cultural and access issues in the region, demographics and trends impacting children in Appalachian Ohio and a conceptual discussion of the need for multi-dimensional support systems. He will also speak to the various efforts to help children who are struggling—including the need for investments in workforce development across the area, broadband, and more prevention programming.

Leite currently serves as executive director of the Appalachian Children’s Coalition, an organization focused on expanding access to behavioral health services and supports for the children of the 32-county Appalachian Ohio region. Prior to assuming his current position, Leite spent more than 35 years as a faculty member and academic leader in higher education, culminating in his tenure of 13 years as dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professions at Ohio University.
