Ohio University School of Music 2021 Virtual Trombone Day

Open to high school students, teachers, and trombone enthusiasts everywhere! 

A full day of trombone-related activities hosted virtually by the Ohio University School of Music on Saturday, January 30. Trombone Day will include a group warm-up, master class activities with faculty and students, and a final recital featuring the internationally acclaimed performer, teacher, and author Megumi Kanda, Principal Trombone of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra since 2002. 

Trombone players and brass enthusiasts of all levels and backgrounds are welcome. High school and college students are strongly encouraged to participate. Registration will be done completely online. Trombone Day is organized by Lucas Borges, Assistant Professor of Trombone, Ohio University School of Music. 

Featured Artist: Megumi Kanda Megumi Kanda, Principal Trombone of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra since 2002, is an internationally acclaimed performer, teacher, and author.

Special Guest: Jason Sulliman, Troy University Dr. Jason Sulliman is Assistant Professor of Trombone at Troy University and Trombone Tutor for the North American Brass Band Summer School as part of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

This year’s Trombone Day is supported by the  Ohio University Trombone Society  and  Rettig Music .
