- Sponsored by : Ohio University Student Veterans of America and the Ohio University Veterans Center.
- About the Memorial:
- The Memorial features a 28-foot wide by 6-foot tall American flag , symbolizing the shape of the flag when draped over the casket of a fallen service member.
- It is composed of over 7,000 dog tags , each representing a service member who has fallen in the War on Terror. The dog tags are arranged in alphabetical order from September 11, 2001, to December 31, 2017 , with tags thereafter in chronological order of those Killed in Action (KIA) .
- 50 gold stars on the flag honor Gold Star families nationwide.
- Displayed in front of the flag is a battlefield cross sculpture carved from mahogany wood by veteran artist Alicia Dietz.
- Military Appreciation Football Game
: Ohio University Bobcats vs. Buffalo at 12:00 PM

- Students get into the game for free with their mobile student ticket.
- Complimentary tickets are available at the Veterans Center (Baker 350)
, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
. While supplies last.
- You must be a student Veteran (or currently serving), spouse or dependent of a Veteran (or currently serving), or a Faculty/Staff member who is a Veteran (or currently serving).

: All Veteran and Military-Connected students and faculty/staff, along with friends and family members, are invited to attend this special tailgate before the game.
