Appalachia has been utilized for its resources and people for several decades\; from coal to steel\, indust ry has settled comfortably in a place where people value hard work.\n\nWork ing with traditional Appalachian materials and techniques such as crocheted yarn\, sewn fabric\, and cardboard moving boxes\, her work forms an enviro nment where tradition collides with impermanence in a materialization of a cultural phenomenon.\n\nHer goal is to connect the viewer to the quandary o f the Appalachian person. Industrialization has been existing as a traditio n within Appalachian culture\, but deindustrialization has struck the regio n. Now the question is\, do the people fight for or against it?\n\nView Kni pp’s work in our virtual art gallery at https://www.ohio.edu/southern/artga llery DTEND:20201210T220000Z DTSTAMP:20241114T171513Z DTSTART:20201210T130000Z LOCATION: SEQUENCE:0 SUMMARY:Victoria Knipp | Virtual Art Exhibit UID:tag:localist.com\,2008:EventInstance_35156059727275 URL:https://calendar.ohio.edu/event/victoria_knipp_virtual_art_exhibit END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
