The Wellness Committee at HCOM is taking a proactive step towards wellness by establishing a Student Support Group. This Support Group would meet weekly and will be a place for students to come and discuss anything at all. The sessions will be led by HCOM’s embedded clinician Dorian Callahan. A Support Group is vital as we balance the stresses of life in addition to medical school and has numerous benefits. Having a forum where students can discuss anything from coping strategies for stress to something as simple as what they did over the weekend, can help improve camaraderie, decrease anxiety, and even be empowering.
