AAS 353 - Survey of Black Independent Cinema


Examines the history and current status of independent black filmmaking. Independents have often served as a counterbalance to Hollywood’s limited portrayal of African Americans. The impact, relevance, and aesthetics of films from the black voice will be studied.
Prerequisites: AAS 150

Credit Hours: 4
