HIST 2460 - The Rise of Modern Asia
Introductory survey of the history of Asia from the early modern era to the present day. Emphasis on the rise of modern nationalism, economic development, and social and cultural achievements.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to discuss major historical themes and time periods in Asian history, and basic, general trends in Asian historiography.
- Students will be familiar with geographical, historical, and contemporary features of maps of Asia.
- Students will demonstrate understanding that Asian political, economic, and social/cultural systems changed over time.
- Students will demonstrate understanding that Asians contributed significantly to the development of processes of globalization.
