HIST 4742 - The Cold War: a Global History
This course examines international problems of peace and war on worldwide scale since World War II, with a focus on international organizations and alliances. Topics include global balance of power and ideologies, nuclear weapons, strategy and diplomacy, economics, and postcolonial states and societies as well as representations of the Cold War in film, art, and literature.
Requisites: Soph or Jr or Sr

- Students will be able to use visual aids (charts, slides, etc.) to communicate effectively about their research to experts and peers.
- Students will be able to critically analyze events by drawing on primary and secondary sources.
- Students will be able to state their conclusions logically and in a priority order.
