ETM 2190 - Welding Technology


Theory and practice of welding processes. Includes SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Gas Metal Welding, and Resistance Welding. Class will include process for weld quality examination. Lab activities include welding and defect analysis.

Requisites: ETM 2180 and advanced standing in ETM
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture, 4.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Be able to apply correct weld review/test for assurance of weld quality.
  • Be familiar with automated welding methods.
  • Be familiar with various welding processes.
  • Create quality welds using welding lab equipment.
  • Understand the different processes for weld quality assurance.
